In a release issued over the weekend, ULFASA said, “The University of Liberia Faculty and Staff Association (ULFASA) convened in a combined Emergency General Assembly on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the hour of 12:00 Midday after a very fruitful meeting with His Excellency, Joseph Nyumah Boakai, Sr, President of the Republic of Liberia on June 21, 2024.

“As a result of this meeting, the Visitor of the University constituted an Interim Management team, headed by Dr. Alhasan Conteh, with the mandate to oversee activities at the UL and resolve the issues of ULFASA.

“Furthermore, the Interim Management team and the UL Board of Trustees (BoT) met with the leadership of ULFASA and assured them of the new team’s commitment to implement the mandate of the Visitor, which includes the demands of ULFASA.

“The leadership and members of the ULFASA, being assured of progress by the Visitor and with initial steps taken to resolve the longstanding issues of the University, unanimously resolved to end their disengagement and resume normal academic and administrative activities on Monday, July 1, 2024.

“ULFASA therefore urges everyone to adhere to this decision as we jointly pursue a lasting pathway to our many issues. We urge all administrative staff as well as academic staff to adhere to this decision.”
