The Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County, Pennsylvania Civil Division, the United States of America, has ordered both lawyers representing incumbent President Shiwoh Kamara and ULAA National Board of Directors to spearhead the March 2, 2024 election.

The court’s decision was taken recently by a writ of prohibition filed in by counsellor Nixon T. Sunwabe, lawyer representing Incumbent President Kamara, against Alfred Sieh, National Board of Directors Chairman. It can be recalled that in October 2023 the National Board of Directors took a decision to appoint an interim leadership to spearhead all ULAA activities. That decision was taken following the disruption of the union’s election at its national convention on September 16 in the United States of America.

According to information, incumbent Kamara’s tenure expired before the holding of the September 16, convention. The National Board of Directors is guided by Chapter XXIII article 7 of the union’s constitution, and appointed a three-man interim leadership of ULAA, which was challenged by Kamara lawyer in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County, Pennsylvania Civil Division. The court has finally taken the decision that ULAA election must be held on March 2, 2024.

When contacted, members of the National Board of Directors said they agree with the court’s decision.

The court’s order said only the two lawyers representing ULAA National Board of Directors and Incumbent President Kamara are to spearhead the pending election on March 2.

ULAA’s incumbent President is going against a businessman and philanthropist, an individual well known for his numerous contributions within the Liberian community in the Americas.

Mohammed Keita currently serves as the National Vice President of the Board of Directors of ULAA.

Sources told the Hot Pepper that Keita is a heavy hand on incumbent President Shiwoh Kamara.
