Minister of Education, Prof. D. Ansu Sonii

The Ministry of Education has officially released the final Academic Calendar containing the timeline of school activities for 2020/2021. The calendar outlines that all schools, early childhood education and basic and secondary education, will operate from December 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021.

The Ministry highlights the following key points in providing education by obtaining quality learning outcomes across the education system by all schools and stakeholders:  All instructional programs must be based on the National Early Childhood Education Curriculum and the Competence-Based Curriculum for Grades 1—12. Supplementary curricula and instruction support materials are allowed to foster instruction.  The Education Law calls for a minimum of two hundred instructional days; all schools should pattern their academic calendar after the national academic calendar; the brochure of each school should include all information for the whole year that parents and students need to know. This should include all fees and activities; schools that are eligible to graduate students (kindergarten (KG-II) and grade-12) must include graduation fees and breakdown of all fees.
