The All Liberian Party (ALP) has convened an extraordinary National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, in which it primarily discussed the political direction of the party in regard to the 2023 general and presidential elections. The meeting was attended by the Diaspora leadership of the ALP.
In a release issued by the ALP over the weekend, signed by its Secretary General, Jethro Emmanuel Kolleh, and approved by its Chairman, JSB Theodore Momo, Jr., the party said, “Following hours of deliberation, the party’s EC resolved to mobilize logistical, financial and human resources to support all candidates nominated on the ticket of the party, and convene an emergency National Convention to decide the ALP’s participation in the general and presidential elections of October 10, 2023.”
According to the release, “The party’s constitution requires that the selection and fielding of presidential candidate in the national election is the sole decision of the National Convention.
“The EC has urged all leaders and partisans to continue to exhibit acts of loyalty, commitment and love for their party, and wants them to be assured of its (NEC) endeavor to building a strong, competitive and viable political institution.”
