The Ambassador of India to Liberia, Pradip Kumar Yadar, paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, inviting the Minister, Cllr. Cooper Kruah, to the celebration of the 8th International Day of Yoga.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, the Ambassador of India visited the Minister of Post and Telecommunications and invited him to the Aware International School campus on Sunday, June 19, 2022 to join the celebration of the 8th Yoga International Day.

During the visitation, the ambassador informed the Minister about the orientation of Yoga. “Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘Yoga’ derived from Sanskrit, which means to join or to unite,” Ambassador Yadar explained.

He said Yoga further symbolizes the union of the body and its consciousness, noting that on December 11, 2014 the United Nations proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.

“The aim of the celebration of the International Day of Yoga is to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits in practicing Yoga,” he added.

For his part, Minister Kruah welcomed Ambassador Yadar, and thanked him for his visit on short notice. Minister Kruah promised to join the people of India in celebrating the event at the Aware International School, GSA Road.
