With the votes of thirty-five (35) for, four (4) against and five (5) abstention, the plenary of the House of Representatives has agreed to invite the Minister of State and Presidential Affairs, Sylvester M. Grigsby, and the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, BoimaKamara, to come with pictorial and documented reports of President Boakai’s recent travel to Ghana, and other related national issues.

The communication that prompted the invitation of the above mentioned ministers was written by Montserrado County’s district #10 Representative, Yekeh Y. Kolubah, seeking the indulgence of plenary of the House of Representatives to invite the Minister of State and Presidential Affairs and the Minister of Finance andDevelopment and Planning to address the presidential travel-related issue. Plenary thus cited the two ministers.

Speaking in plenary, Montserrado County’s district #5, Representative, Priscilla M. Cooper, noted that in President Joseph Boakai’s State-of-the-Nation Address he said that there will be no “business as usual”, and the Unity Party government came to rescues Liberia. As such, whatever the President does there should be accountability.

The plenary reached the decision to invite the Minister of State and Presidential Affairs and Minster of Finance and Development planning on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

Meanwhile, a motion was proffered by Sinoe County’sdistrict #1 Representative, T. Romeo Quioh, that the Minster of Finance and Development Planning and the Minister of State of Presidential Affairs appear before full plenary on next week Tuesday, to address the issues surrounding the trip made by His Excellency President Joseph N Boakai to Ghana.
