The Board of Commissioners (BOC) of the National Elections Commission (NEC) on Wednesday dismissed the motion for summary proceeding as prayed for by the petitioners, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and al, in the interparty conflict within the Liberty Party (LP), involving Musa Bility. Lawyers representing Senator Karnga-Lawrence, led by Cllr. Augustine Fayaih, accepted the ruling and announced an appeal to the Supreme Court of Liberia.
The BOC, on Wednesday, March ,2 2022 ordered the hearing officers to resumed jurisdiction in the Liberty Party interparty conflict between the respondents Musa Bility and petitioners Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, all of the Liberty Party.
The BOC, in its ruling, read by the Clerk, Fofee Sheriff, said the hearing officers, Cllr. Muana Ville and Atty. Annie Broderick of the Administrative Court, did not err when they ruled that Musa Bility had standing in the matter. The Board at the time agreed that the hearing officers did not err when they ruled that they had no jurisdiction in the matter.
The case grew out of the action, Interparty Conflict between Mr. Musa Bility and al versus Hon. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, all of the Liberty Party of the city of Monrovia. Cllr. Powo Hilton represented the respondents, Musa Bility and al.
Accordingly, NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, and Commissioner Ernestine Morgan Awar did not hear the case and, therefore, did not sign the ruling of the Board.
