New Energy Electric Vehicles (NEEV) has officiallylaunched in Liberia with a vision of a greener, cleaner and more sustainable future for Liberia and beyond; Cynthia Quinisier reports.

The Chief Executive Officer of NEEV, Cassell Anthony Kuoh, carefully laid out his company’s plans to revolutionize the transport sector by introducing electric and more energy-efficient vehicles to address climate change, reduce and promote sustainable mobility and economic growth.

Speaking during a news conference over the weekend,Kuoh said Electric Energy Vehicle (NEEV) is a startup in Liberia and the aim is to revolutionize the transport sector of the country.

According to him, the company’s objective is driven by astute and dynamic team members to make it impactful and successful.

“Our focus is on local manufacturing, job and opportunity creation, and youth empowerment. NEEV aims to contribute to the overall socio-economic development goals of the country,” CEO Kuoh noted.

He disclosed that the entity will provide training and employment opportunities for more than 100 young people, as NEEV’s goal is to empower the youth and promote gender equality. He noted that the company was founded on a vision of an inclusive, better, more prosperous, net-zero carbon in Liberia, with sustainable transport modes at its heart.

“We understand that the road to a sustainable future may be challenging, but we firmly believe that it is a path worth pursuing,” the CEO added.

He further noted that it is with great pride and excitement that they announce their plan to introduce the fully-powered solar tricycles (kehkeh) and all electric bikes to the nation.

According to him, these innovative vehicles will not only provide efficient and eco-friendly transportation options, but will also create opportunities for the peopleof Liberia.
