Pres. Weah Breaks Ground For 150-Bedroom Hospital In Grand Bassa
President George M. Weah has broken ground for a 150-bedroom hospital in Grand Bassa County to further improve the health sector.
The city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County’s capital, has only one government-owned hospital, which cannot fully respond to the medical needs of all the citizens of Grand Bassa County.
In this light, President Weah broke ground for the 150-bedroom hospital in the Own-Your-Own Community to add to the lone government hospital, in order for the people of Bassa to have access to medical facilities.
“My government, your government, is breaking ground today for a 150-bedroom hospital to ease the challenge you people face to attend to your medical needs. This is to show you that your votes, which brought me to power, were not wasted; rather, intended for you to benefit from your country’s resources,” President Weah boldly stated.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, the President dedicated and toured the Decontee Early Home in the same Own-Your-Own Community.
Earlier, President Weah triumphantly entered Grand Bassa County Wednesday, April 21, 2021, held face-to-face meeting with citizens of Compound One, was greeted by a bevy of citizens at St. John River Community, and was received by a jostling crowd at Monrovia-Buchanan intersection.
President Weah dedicated the newly constructed Fair Ground Road and held a meeting with the citizens of Buchanan at the City Town Hall.
