President Weah Congratulates Hungary On National Day Observance
President George Manneh Weah has congratulated the government and people of the Republic of Hungary on the occasion commemorating Saint Stephen’s Day.
St. Stephen’s Day is celebrated in Hungary on August 20 of each year. It is also known as “Foundation Day “and “Constitution Day”, and is the official state holiday of Hungary.
In the Message to His Excellency János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary, President Weah, on behalf of Liberia and in his own name, extended best wishes to the government and people of Hungary as they commemorate this historic event.
“As you celebrate this historic occasion, may we reflect on the devastating effects the Corona-virus pandemic (COVID-19) is causing the human race,” the Liberian leader stated.
President Weah also expressed confidence that the two governments will work collectively within the spirit of bilateral cooperation to eradicate this global pandemic, which has also reversed social and economic well-being.
He further expressed his deep appreciation for the high level diplomatic ties subsisting between the two countries and hope that the bilateral collaboration will be further enhanced in many spheres, including youth development, health, education and agriculture, as well as private sector investment for mutual benefits.
President Weah then wished for President Ader and his family good health and festive moment as they celebrate the historic event.
President Weah then wished President Áder best wishes for his personal good health and happiness, as well as for the continued wellbeing and prosperity of the people of Hungary.
