Big Cyber Security Conference Begins Tomorrow

ECOWAS delegation, through the European Union, has arrived in Liberia to create awareness with Liberia Cyber Security through the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

   Report gathered by the Hot Pepper says ECOWAS delegation on Cyber Security arrived in the country yesterday to discuss possibilities for an effective cyber-crime prevention team through the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

   The team from OCWAR-Mission in Liberia is expected to coordinate high level of government officials and key actors in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector in Liberia. The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah Sr., in recent time secured a space for a forensic cyber crime laboratory at the police academy in Paynesville.

   It can be recalled that on Monday, November 2, 2020, a two-man delegation, led by the Deputy Minister for Technical Services, Prosper Browne, toured the proposed Forensic Lab Project in Paynesville along with the ministry’s Project. Officer D. Nalon Kaine is believed to be Liberia’s only cyber Security expert.    According to report, the ECOWAS delegation will train a number of government officials and key actors to fight cyber-crime and create a quick response team in terms of cyber attack on the country’s cyber space.
